Daydream Island

Daydream Island has long been known as a slice of tropical paradise placed gently atop of one of the world’s greatest natural wonders, the Great Barrier Reef. This sprawling island wonderland begins in the centre with a stunning 4.5 star resort surrounded by luscious rainforest, then pristine white sand beaches, followed by various shades of sapphire waters and vibrant coral reef.

Guests often comment on mesmerizing nature of the water and the inability to capture its beauty on camera – your first memory on Daydream Island is a ‘see it to believe it’ experience! After the water’s hypnotising spell has worn and you step onto the island you are immediately welcomed by friendly hotel staff ready to guide you into the resort.
A true taste of Whitsunday decadence, Daydream Island Resort is full of world class features such as the living coral reef, rejuvenation spa, adventure playground, lagoon pools, pool bars, amazing restaurants, and an absolute plethora of activities for adults and children to partake in.

The Jungle Jumble playground, beach volleyball, giant chess, sailing, water polo, rainforest walks, and bocce are just some of the complimentary children’s activities available. There is also snorkelling, diving, parasailing, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, tennis, reef fishing, jet skiing, 19-hole Australian themed mini golf, and even helicopter rides to Whitehaven Island, one of the most photographed islands and beaches in the world.

For night time fun checkout the huge 44 foot outdoor cinema playing new release movies. Or simply enjoy a beautiful meal in one of the seven restaurants on the island – they all feature stunning views that become even more breathtaking at sunset.

One of the most visited and popular features of the resort is the Living Reef – the largest man-made coral reef in the world home to 83 types of coral, 140 species of fish, and 1.5 million litres of the wet stuff! Guests are invited to daily shows and are even able to pat and interact with the stingrays and fish.

Daydream Island Resort is the sole accommodation on the island with Airlie Beach, Hamilton Island, and Proserpine being the main locations to organise transfers from when holidaying on Daydream Island.
