Barossa

The Barossa Valley is a major wine-producing region and tourist destination of South Australia, located 60 km northeast of Adelaide. It is the valley formed by the North Para River, and the Barossa Valley Way is the main road through the valley, connecting the main towns on the valley floor of Nuriootpa, Tanunda, Rowland Flat and Lyndoch.

You can't miss the history of the region when you visit... You see it when you pass by a beautiful old Lutheran Church or pioneer cemetery, you can immerse yourself in it on the Tanunda Heritage Trail, when you take a tour of the Seppeltsfield Winery and discover that a 100-year-old wine has been released every year since 1978, or when you visit the Langmeil Winery home to the ‘Freedom Vineyard’ that was planted in 1843.

Premium wines, including the world-famous Barossa Valley Shiraz and Eden Valley Riesling, regional produce and acclaimed restaurants are all paired together to provide a gastronomic experience second to none.

The picturesque rolling hills of the Barossa Ranges overlook a colourful patchwork of vineyards and picture-book villages, dotted with historic churches, stone buildings, thatched-roof barns and cottages beckoning visitors to explore.

The hospitality of the local community is just as memorable, from the warm welcome of a cellar door or shop owner, to the friendly local who helps you find your way and lets you in on some hidden local gems.

Barossa Valley enjoys regular festivals and events throughout the year. Wine tours and activities bring tourism from local and international destinations. Regional gourmet produce is also available at Farmers' markets on Saturdays.
