A relaxed vibe and plenty of activities make Chiang Mai a great spot for a family holiday. Take the family to the Siam Insect Zoo, a cooking class or zip lining, or pack your swimmers and head to Hang Dong Quarry where you can swim, float on a bamboo raft or watch the kids jump from the very top of the quarry!
While it may seem from the outside that Bangkok is all hustle and night life, there’s actually some great activities for kids. Play in one of the city’s many green parks (Benjasiri Park is our fave) or visit a snake farm if you’re feeling a little more adventurous! SEA LIFE Ocean World is the perfect wet weather activity (get it?) or try surfing and body boarding at the giant wave simulator at Flow House Bangkok. When the kids get peckish, head to The Commons which has an entire floor dedicated to play and a restaurant called Little Pea that doubles as a play area.
Explore waterfalls, build sandcastles and lay by the beach at this laid-back family destination. Get your bearings with a panoramic view of the area from the Mu Koh Chang National Park View Point and head to the Tree Top Adventure Park for zip lining, Tarzan swings and rope courses.
Just an hour and a half from Chiang Mai, Chiang Dao is a bustling town with plenty to offer visiting families. Explore the Chiang Dao Caves, visit the jungle temple of Wat Tham Pha Plong or take a soak in the relaxing hot springs.
Hua Hin is famous for kite surfing so if your little ones are old enough (over 8), strap them to a parachute and watch them fly! If your kids are smaller, head to Whaley Port which is described as an underwater world theme park featuring interactive games and activities. Evason Hua Hin is one of our favourite places to stay in this area, as it's 4.5 star and great for families!
